Exciting New Video Games For Christmas

Posted on Jul 23, 2010 under Counter Strike | No Comment

It’s getting closer and closer to Christmas, but don’t fret; The massive amount of highly anticipated games coming out this Holiday

season can make your Christmas shopping this year all too easy. Moreover, most of these games are sequels to their insanely popular

predecessors.

With the release of Left 4 Dead 2, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin’s Creed 2 all just around the corner, gamers are tense

with the excitement of getting their hands on each title. Even though most of you have probably heard of if not played each games’

first installment, let’s take a look at each one.

Left 4 Dead (Xbox 360, PC) is Valve’s hit survival horror game. While Valve is a company that has made a name for itself with

franchises like Half-Life, Team Fortress, Portal, and Counter-Strike, it’s no surprise that their newest endeavor is just as, if not

more, successful than the previous projects.
Left 4 Dead 2 definitely has a lot of expectations to live up to; Hopefully Valve will be able to keep up with the players’ demands.

The release date is set for November 17th, so mark your calendars.

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) is probably the most popular online game for the Xbox 360 to-date, despite it being

released almost two years ago. As far as first person shooters go, the amount of customization and skills to be acquired is first-rate.

Not to mention the gameplay, which is almost always fast-paced and smooth.

CoD 4: Modern Warfare and its sequel were developed by Infinity Ward, who also created the first three and CoD 5: World at War. CoD 4:

Modern Warfare 2 goes on shelves on November 10th. With it, the original Call of Duty 4 is coming out for the Nintendo Wii, so that

will be something for Nintendo fans to look forward to.

Assassin’s Creed (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) was one of the most story-heavy games this author has ever played. I say that in the best way

possible, however, as there is no point in the story that bored me. The actual mechanics were a bit boring, unfortunately. Hopefully

that will be fixed by Ubisoft’s next installment in the series, Assassin’s Creed 2. This game will also see its release on the 17th of

November. There were a lot of questions raised at the end of the first game, and I for one expect some answers in the second.

And if none of that interests you, there’s still more on the way. Crackdown 2 is expected a little later in 2010 and Halo 3: ODST is

out now, fresh off the presses. Both titles are available on the Xbox 360. Final Fantasy XIII is going to be released in Japan on

December 17th this year for the PS3, with an international release hopefully not too far behind it. With so many great titles in sight,

it’s hard not to find something that everyone will like!

It looks like an Exciting New Year to Come!

Three Easy Steps to Becoming a Video Game Tester

Posted on Jul 09, 2010 under Counter Strike | No Comment

If you haven’t read any of my previous articles I suggest you do or visit my site at the end of this article for more information about game testing and what I do. I am a video game tester and I love my job so far. I’m going to teach you how to prepare in becoming a video game tester in three easy steps.

Step One: Set Your Goals

What exactly are you looking for in becoming a video game tester? If you are serious in a video game career I suggest setting realistic goals for yourself. For example, what genre of games do you love most that will enable you to work to your full potential. Personally I aimed for first person shooters and MMORPGs because I can play those for literally days without blinking, you know games such as Counter-Strike, Teamfortress 2, World of Warcraft, Warhammer, etc. So when you set your goals make sure that they’re realistic and they will help you to land a job as a video game tester.

Step Two: Make Connections

I think the most important part about getting an actual job as a video game tester is making connections. I’ll be honest and without connections I wouldn’t have a job as a video game tester nor would I be writing this. It isn’t hard to make connections you just have to do the right thing and know where to look. Basically, what I did was I started connecting with people on social networking sites (twitter, facebook, myspace, etc) and narrowed it down to people who had experience in video game beta testing. I talked about video games and even played video games online with some of them and through one connection I was able to land a job with Activision Blizzard where I currently work today. It’s easier to get a job when someone is referring you then to apply without knowing anyone in the company so get out there and network!

Step Three: Build a Portfolio

The best way to land a job in video games is to build a strong portfolio that tell companies what you’re capable of and what experience you have. The key factor to this is experience I suggest you read my other articles to get a better idea, but I’ll summarize on here as well. You basically have to prove that you know your stuff or else companies will just ignore you. The best way to do this is making a website or blog and constantly review video games. Also to get as many one time jobs as possible which will create a lot of references in your resume, this looks very good.

I hoped I have helped you in any way on your journey to getting a gaming career, make sure to read my other articles for more information and of course to visit my website for full guides on how to be a video game tester step by step – http://EasyGameTester.com

Posted on Jun 29, 2010 under Counter Strike | No Comment

To protect children from not only the many different effects of computer and video games, but also adults, the packs should be provided with detailed warnings formulated similar to that seen in cigarette boxes.  Some examples will be explained in more detail at this point.

Counter-Strike

That one learns at Ego-shots like Counter-Strike to kill other people, is well known. Ostbomk Elke Fischer, associate professor of social education at the University of Cologne, not only has a very funny name, she also points out that “Killer” to convey the ability to kill targeted head shots. Cold coffee, as everyone knows, an appropriate warning is therefore unnecessary. Interestingly, however, now has a team of scientists at the University of Giessen, home to the first Institute for Human Nutrition in Germany, discovered after extensive field trials that the consumption of a Counter-Strike pack can result in serious health damage. Especially, if individuals do not chew. Problem: This tells you which of course no pork! An appropriate warning is therefore essential.

Wii Sports

“Make sure that no people or objects are close to you,” advises the Nintendo console, while a father, when Wii launches sport. But this warning is easy to miss. The result: Often, the skin in the wild swing around the Nunchuk to his teammates in the face or wherever. Some also demolish their homes and cause for insurance information so that millions of dollars in damage. Testimony of several tragedies, including the page Wiidamge.com. Consequently, a clear warning on the package! The animal rights organization PETA asks that this be pointed to other living things, especially after the mother had an unspecified editor recently in the office of a game online magazine near Nuremberg geschlonzt accidentally while tennis plus a house cat through the window, or more precisely getopspint.

What Makes Video Games So Popular

Posted on Oct 12, 2009 under Counter Strike | No Comment

We live in a fast paced world in which things change rapidly. In today’s life, no one has sufficient time at their hands as everyone seems to be too busy. People live a hectic life in which there is no space for entertainment. It might appear that there is no solution to this problem but actually there is a solution to this problem.

Internet games are a possible solution to this problem as they use Internet technology in order to allow people to play games. Internet has become a part of everyone’s life as it has something to offer to everyone. Since Internet is used by a number of people across the world, Internet games are great for entertainment purpose.

Internet games are great for anyone who has Internet access and who wants to have some sort of entertainment or who’s looking for something to kill his time. There are a number of websites that offer free Internet games and there are some paid sites as well. Also, you’ll find a number of people on these sites and so, you can easily kill your time. That being said, Internet games can also be used to relieve someone from stress. Once you get involved in an interesting game, you are bound to forget about all the tensions and this relieves an individual from the stress. This is the reason why some developers have created a number of different kinds of games.

As the technology is improving rapidly, more and more enhanced games are being launched at regular intervals. However, the Internet games can be grouped in four categories.

1. Games that are played directly within the browser simply by visiting the web page that has the game embedded into it.
2. Text-based games that can be played by using some web based forum, Internet Relay Chat (IRC), Telnet.
3. Games that can be played by using an email.
4. Graphical games that require a stand-alone software package installed on the end-user’s machine. Authentication is also required to play such games.

Basically, how an Internet game is played depends on the type of the game that you want to play as some games can be played easily within the browser whereas some games require certain software packages in order to allow people from different locations to play together. Now, if you are wondering what do you need in order to play these games then you need an Internet connection in the first place.

It is advisable to have a moderate-speed Internet connection for browser based games and a high-speed Internet connection is required for graphical games so as to avoid the lagging while enjoying the game. Most of the games are available for free and you don’t need any money to play games unless you want to play paid games. Also, most of the sites that offer Internet games require you to create an account with them which is also free on most of the sites.

The credit for developing Internet games goes to rapid development in technology and to the developers who have created almost every type of game. Card games, shooting games, chess, billiard, arcade games and gambling games are some of the games that are very popular among game lovers and developers have created a number of Internet games based on these games. Half-Life, Lineage, World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike are some of the popular paid games which required high-speed internet connection and software packages to be installed on the machine.

If you love video games you can download free games here and find even more free game downloads here.
